Springtime Icefields Mission - The Freshfields
It's cold and windy, we're incarcerated inside our 8-Man dome tent hiding from the sting of winter. The sounds of the stove rumble in the vestibule as Rubens nobly prepares us dinner on this inhospitable night. As we bed down for our first in temps of -20 C, we're in a state of physical shock and told quickly to acclimate from our shorts and T-Shirt wearing summer environs of yesterday.
The Rocky Mountain Sherpas just finished a stellar trip to the Freshfield Icefields in the Canadian Rockies. This week long expedition back to the icy clutches of the high icefields was our last film trip of the winter and one last chance for everyone to gorge on a final feast of radness. Accessed by helicopter and then touring out from our base camp daily, we were blessed with a smorgasbord of steep lines, surprisingly deep Rockies fluff and a camp spot to rival the best of them. The Sherpas were joined by James Heim, Eric Hjorleifson, Chris Rubens, Callum Pettit and photog extraordinaire, Jordan Manley.
An epic trip to wrap up an epic season, the first in the two year quest for our environmental project, "All.I.Can". Check in this summer for clips from this trip and others and watch out this fall for the "All.I.Can" film teaser.
